The portable handheld receiver (HQ) can monitor up to 8 Roboguard Sensors giving both an audible and visual alert to the exact sensor that was triggered. The HQ can also be integrated with any existing intruder alarm system.

The communication range between the Roboguard sensor and the HQ is up to 400m (or extended up to 800m with a Repeater device), using 433 Mhz licence free UHF radio, which enables reliable communication through walls and steel structures.

The HQ can monitor other devices via the Roboguard universal transmitter which will "mimic" the Roboguard (electric fence, burglar alarm, and other types of sensor).

The HQ has five output switches to connect to other devices, one that can switch 1AMP the other four, 40ma. are: [siren, cell module, lights, burglar alarm, radio transmitter].

The HQ also incorporates remote arming, disarming, panic and auxiliary via the Roboguard four button Remote key
